UAE E-Invoicing Deadlines: What to Do Before the ASP Appointment Date

The e-invoicing timeline has separate dates for appointing a service provider and going live. Here is how to plan for both.

UAE e-invoicing has two dates that are easy to confuse: the deadline to appoint an accredited service provider (ASP) and the date mandatory implementation starts.

The current timeline

For businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more, the current ASP appointment deadline is 30 October 2026, and mandatory implementation remains 1 January 2027. Smaller in-scope businesses have later dates during 2027.

Timelines can change, so confirm your band against the latest Ministry of Finance announcement.

Why the ASP date matters

Appointing a provider is not the finish line. Integration, data mapping and testing all follow, and they take longer when the ASP is chosen late or on price alone.

A practical readiness plan

  1. \\Confirm scope and band.\\ Establish which date applies to your entity or group.
  2. \\Review invoice processes.\\ Map how invoices and credit notes are created, approved and sent today.
  3. \\Screen the ERP and master data.\\ An ERP that produces a PDF may still be unable to exchange structured data. Buyer identifiers, tax codes and credit-note logic are common gaps.
  4. \\Select the ASP.\\ Compare providers on one scorecard covering integration, service levels, controls and cost.
  5. \\Test properly.\\ Include credit notes, foreign customers, rejections and reconciliations, not only the happy path.
